Become a trustee with Equal Arts

We are a pioneering creative ageing charity based in the North-East. Our team works to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing through creativity and the Imagination Model.

We support older people and those living with dementia, both in care settings and those living independently. Our arts programme supports people to explore their creativity, connect with others, find renewed purpose and develop meaningful relationships within their communities.

We are looking to recuit new trustees to join our committed board and welcome expressions of interest from people with experience in the areas of business, digital, and finance.

Our programme includes HenPower, Creative Age, artist-led workshops in cultural venues across Tyneside, cross-generational projects linking North East schools with care settings and our Dementia & Imagination training being delivered to artists, care, health and cultural venue staff across the UK.

We value and champion the huge benefits being creative can have on our health and wellbeing as we age and provide opportunities for people 55+ to have access to high quality creative experiences.

Key Dates

Candidates will be invited to attend a meeting of the board as an observer on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Remuneration

The role of the Trustee is not accompanied by any financial remuneration.

Location

Level 3, Newcastle City Library, 33 New Bridge Street, Newcastle, NE1 1AX. Meetings are also at times held via Zoom.

Time Commitment

The Board meets six times a year. Meetings normally start at 5pm and last for 60 – 90 minutes.
