Drawn Together - Creative Ageing training for North East artists

We've developed a training scheme with arts organisations Chilli Studios, Lawnmowers Theatre Co, Curious Arts and Gem Arts, to help people 55+ and those living with dementia to age well through creativity.

Funded by Arts Council England, Drawn Together will develop artists' skills and confidence in creative ageing to enhance the cultural sector's understanding of the diversity of older people living in the North East.

To register your interest in joining the scheme please complete the form below by January 6, 2024.

Drawn Together

Artists will receive bursaries for time spent on the scheme which includes;

  • Six half-day training sessions

  • Eight half-day Shadowing opportunities

  • Eight half-day project delivery opportunities.

Drawn Together training modules will;

  • Explore delivery of Dementia & Imagination programmes in Cultural Venues, Supported Housing Schemes and Dementia Care Homes
  • Incorporate the intersectionality of older people including those living with mental health and learning disabilities and those from LGBTQ+ and Global Majority communities.
“We have cultivated a vibrant and inclusive community art space where adults facing mental health challenges create their own tools to thrive. We are incredibly excited to be part of this exciting project, sharing and learning best practice from all involved.” Bob Malpiedi, Chilli Studios
