Carers' Creative Activities
This is our highly successful series of sessions for carers providing opportunities for people to learn new creative skills.
Chosen by the group, the varied activities over the years have seen them set designing at the Theatre Royal, print making at Northern Print and helping make improvements to St Edmund’s Park with the Shipley Art Gallery.
The adventurers also act as critical friends to the cultural venues they visit across the country, helping improve services for older people.
After visiting the Imperial War Museum in London, the group are hoping to secure Heritage Lottery Funding to mark the WWI Centenary with a project looking at the role of the war artist.
"It's a chance to find yourself again, you get lost being a carer and being creative and being part of something helps you remember who you are." A member of Carers Creative Activities
