Take part in our first Wills Week this February
There’s no better time to get peace of mind and your will in place as North East solicitors waive their fees to support Equal Arts.
This February law firms in Newcastle, Gateshead and Chester-le-Street will cut their prices with the reduced rates being donated to the charity as part of our first Wills Week.
From February 20 you can book in for single or mirror will writing or amending appointments at participating solicitors.
The reduce rates of £90 and £150 will help provide vital funding to combat loneliness and improve the wellbeing of older people in care and living with dementia in the region.
Ben Wilson, the charity’s Individual Giving Officer, said: “Wills Week gives people the opportunity to get their affairs in order and make sure their wishes are recorded while helping to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
“Along with bringing themselves peace of mind, this February they can make a real difference to the lives of older people living in our communities.”
Currently working in more than 30 care settings in the region and out in the community, the charity’s work includes HenPower and Creative Age, an initiative providing dementia-friendly arts sessions in cultural venues.
Cliff Veitch, Partner at David Gray Solicitors in Newcastle, said: “While most people are aware of the value of having a will they quite often just don't get round to it. It is imperative to ensure your wishes are stated in writing and up-to-date.
“Equal Arts provides a unique, stimulating service for older people and we are happy to help in any way we can.”
Other participating firms include Patterson Wolf & Co in Gateshead and Gordon Brown Law Firm in Chester-le-Street.
Sessions will be held the week commencing February 20 and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
