Free networking event for North East artists
A FREE networking event for North East artists is heading to Darlington.
The artists’ lunch will come to Darlington on May 20 as creative ageing charity Equal Arts, based in Gateshead, sees a rise in demand for its services across County Durham and Teesside.
The event will be at The Bridge Centre for Visual Arts from 5.30pm and 7pm and is a chance to find out more about upcoming work opportunities within care settings and the chance to talk to current Equal Arts’ artists.
Equal Arts’ sessions explore the latest delivery models such as the Imagination Model as opposed to relying on memory-based activities for older people.
The event on May 20 will see Equal Arts director Douglas Hunter talking about upcoming opportunities within its flagship project, HenPower.
Freelance dance artist Mona McCarthy said: “Our last event was a really great way of hearing what others had to say about the sessions and projects they are involved in. This free lunch is a fantastic opportunity for artists to be inspired by what others are doing in the North East and find out about upcoming work opportunities.
“I have always felt incredibly supported as an artist working with Equal Arts and it is great to have the chance to deliver dance sessions in care settings.”
