A new community choir is coming to Gateshead

PEOPLE of all ages are being encouraged to get vocal with the launch of a new community choir.

The choir, open to children and adults, is being run by Artful Codgers, a group supporting residents living at Winton Court care home in Winlaton.

With support from Equal Arts, the project aims to create a sociable and inclusive community choir for all.

A drop-in session will be held on June 20 from 11am until 12pm at Winton Court for anyone wanting to find out more about joining the community choir.

Nicky Rushton (pictured left)is one of the Equal Arts artists who will help lead the choir.

She said: “This really is for the whole community, young or old, dads and their daughters, mums and their friends. It is chance to come along and find out what being in a choir is all about. “You don’t need to be musical. We are looking for people wanting to have a go at being a part of a fun and sociable community project.”
