Merry Christmas everyone!

These past few weeks we’ve been had a great fun working with tenants from Birch Grove …..or Birch Groove as they’re now known! Run by South Tyneside Homes, the musical extravaganza has been made possible thanks to funding from Know Your Neighbourhood South Tyneside.

The Birch Groovers worked with our musician Caroline, to explore people’s Christmas beliefs developing lyrics by writing cards to someone on a distant planet that they’d not seen for a long time.

The song is an extra-terrestrial take on ‘Driving Home for Christmas’ with a dusting of an environmental message scattered between the lines.

Recording the tune was great fun, with David going big on the bells, and proved a reminder that being together with a bit of music, movement and imagination is a great way to spend an afternoon!
